Box Score ASHLAND, Va. -- The William Peace University men's basketball team continues to roll through the competition with Randolph-Macon being the latest victim of a 72-68 decision. The Pacers closed out yet another game in the waning seconds to improve to 5-1.
William Peace found themselves behind at halftime 40-32, but within six minutes into the second half the Pacers had erased the eight-point deficit and tied the game at 46. The Pacers and Yellow Jackets were locked in a tight match from there on out with several lead changes and ties down the final 14 minutes.Â
The Pacers went up three with 1:45 left in the game after a steal by
Willie Herring, which led to a foul on Randolph-Macon and Herring drilling both free throws. Randolph-Macon would have a few more opportunities to score but couldn't convert on any of its next possessions. A foul with 3.9 seconds sent
Jalen Vince to the line who made the front end of his two free-throw attempts to close the game at 72-68.

LEAVING IT TILL THE END
The Pacers have won four straight with each victory coming at a margin of less than 10. The team has showed poise down the stretch making its free throws in the end and coming from behind a couple times in the final few minutes.
BY THE NUMBERS
Ryan Emfinger led the team with 17 points and had a team-high nine rebounds while also filling out the box score with four assists, two blocks and a steal.
Dakota Kings scored 16 points while grabbing six rebounds, four of which came on the offensive end.
Jalen Vince was the only other Pacer to score in double figures with 11.
