BUENA VISTA, Va. - William Peace men's basketball wrapped up its regular season on Saturday afternoon, falling 88-75 to Southern Virginia in Buena Vista, Virginia. The Pacers conclude the season with a 9-16 overall record and a 3-11 mark in the USA South.
Peace battled throughout the afternoon, shooting an efficient 49 percent from the field and 44 percent from three. The Pacers trailed 45-36 at halftime but continued to compete in the second half, cutting the deficit to single digits on multiple occasions. Southern Virginia responded with timely scoring down the stretch to secure the win.
Shawn Jones led the Pacers with 17 points, five rebounds, and two blocks in his final collegiate game. Chuks Ezeonu added 16 points and six rebounds, while Elijah Green contributed 15 points and three assists. Tyler Whitehurst finished with 12 points, knocking down four three-pointers, and Elijah Cathcart chipped in five points and six rebounds.
