ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - William Peace men's basketball dropped a conference road contest on Wednesday night, falling 80-58 to N.C. Wesleyan at Everett Gymnasium. The loss moves the Pacers to 8-14 overall and 2-9 in USA South play.
N.C. Wesleyan built a strong first half lead and carried a 40-22 lead into the break. The Pacers showed improved shooting in the second half, connecting on seven threes over the final 20 minutes, but were unable to overcome the deficit set by the Battling Bishops.
Shawn Jones led Peace with 15 points and six rebounds, while Elijah Cathcart added 11 points off the bench. Parker Hodgson chipped in nine points and four rebounds as the Pacers continued to compete throughout the second half.
William Peace will look to their next contest on Saturday, February 14th hosting Brevard at 2 p.m.
