Baseball Advances to Winner Take All Against Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. - William Peace split a competitive double header on Friday in the USA South Tournament, dominating top seeded Greensboro 13-3 in game one before falling just short 5-4 in game two. The Pacers now sit at 19-23 overall heading into a winner take all match up on Saturday.

In the opener, the Pacers delivered one of their most complete offensive performances of the season, totaling 22 hits which set a postseason program record. All starters reached base, led by four hit performances from Caden French and Kahner Moss while Gavin Turner drove in four runs.

Peace also stayed aggressive on the bases with nine stolen bases, another postseason team record, helping break the game open late to secure the win over the number one seed.

Nathan Roller led the offense with three hits and three RBI while Kyle Peters added a home run as part of an 11 hit performance.

The Pacers pitching staff was strong throughout, combining for 11 strikeouts. Greensboro pushed across the go ahead run in the eighth inning and Peace was unable to respond in a narrow 5 to 4 loss.

William Peace returns to the field on Sunday, May 3 at 1 PM in Game 5 with a trip to the USA South Championship Series on May 8 and 9 on the line.
