MISENHEIMER, N.C. - William Peace's postseason run came to an end this weekend as the Pacers fell to second seeded Pfeiffer in two games during the USA South Championship Series in Misenheimer. Peace finishes the 2026 season with a 20-25 overall record after making the conference championship series for the second time in program history, both appearances coming under head coach Charlie Long.
In Friday night's opener, the Pacers battled early and traded momentum with the Falcons through the first half of the game. Peace jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning behind a two run home run from Leland Barrow, then answered again in the fourth when Kahner Moss launched a grand slam to put the Pacers back in front 7-5. Pfeiffer eventually pulled away late, however, using a six run seventh inning to secure a 17-7 win. Moss finished with four RBIs while Caden French, Aidan Allred, Nick Weisner, and Hayden Heath all recorded multi hit performances.Â
On Saturday, the Pacers looked to force a deciding third game but were unable to get the offense going in a 6-0 loss. William Peace collected seven hits, including two from Kahner Moss and Kyle Peters, but stranded 10 runners on base as Pfeiffer controlled the game from the fifth inning on. Landon Coleman turned in a strong start through the opening innings before the Falcons broke through mid game.
Despite the final result, the 2026 season marked a major step forward for the program. After missing the USA South Tournament entirely the previous two seasons, the Pacers not only returned to postseason play but advanced all the way to the conference championship series. William Peace also reached the 20 win mark for the first time since 2023 and will look to build on the momentum heading into next season.
