Women's Basketball Drops Home Conference Matchup to NC Wesleyan

RALEIGH, N.C. - William Peace women's basketball fell 67-61 to USA South opponent NC Wesleyan on Friday afternoon inside the Hermann Athletic Center. The loss moves the Pacers to 6-6 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

The game featured tight play throughout, with seven ties and four lead changes. William Peace held a 17-14 advantage after the first quarter, but NC Wesleyan used a strong third quarter to regain control and build a lead that carried into the final period. The Pacers made a late push in the fourth quarter and cut the deficit to three points with under three minutes remaining, but were unable to complete the comeback.

Zikira Henderson led William Peace with 15 points, adding five assists and six rebounds. Alayna Randolph finished with 12 points, three steals, and two assists, while Jess Worthey continued her strong return with 11 points on three made three-pointers. Ensley Perry added nine points and five rebounds, and Kristin Barber contributed defensively with two blocks.

William Peace forced 19 turnovers and matched NC Wesleyan with 19 points off turnovers, but the visitors capitalized at the free throw line late to secure the win.

The Pacers will look to regroup on the road next, traveling to Salem College for a USA South match up on Tuesday, January 6.
