Pacers Dominate Royals Behind Explosive Attack

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va - Just 24 hours removed from a successful home match, the Pacers made the drive north to face the Royals of Regent University.

Both teams traded shots within the first 5 minutes of the game, both chances missing the frame. However, the next Peace shot by freshman Ibra Ndiaye was on target and slipped past the Royal goal tender to give the Pacers a 1-0 lead.

The Royals and Pacers would trade possession over the next 10 minute stretch, neither team grabbing a strong foothold.

In the 19th minute, the game would enter a phase of Pacer dominance that provided a perfect definition of the phrase "early and often."

Gabe Faria scored on a ball from Ausar Omwenga in the 20th minute. Ausar would then turn around 9 minutes later and finish a goal of his own, making it 3-0. Just 90 seconds after the Pacer 3rd, the Pacer 4th came from Roberto Rayo and the route was on.

It was a mix of sloppy Royal turnovers and relentless Pacer pressure that contributed to the landslide of goals that was not close to being done.

Santiago Escobar gave Peace its 5th goal of the game, right before the break.

The Royals came out of the break looking for any piece of positivity, and they found it with a goal in the 48th minute.

Peace would answer back in the 54th with their 6th of the evening, this one coming from reserve midfielder, O'Shari Shealey. Shealey would make the most of his most extended piece of playing time of the season by completing the brace and growing the Pacer lead to 7-1 in the 60th minute.

A landslide of subs for both teams followed the Pacers' 7th goal. Reserve midfielders Miguel Rodriguez and Gabriel Cotto would both get themselves into the scoring column just before the final horn. The final score displayed a 9-1 Pacer triumph. Peace continued to ride their massive wave of momentum which grew even larger after this destruction of Regent.

Peace looks to continue their solid play as the Virginia tour continues on Saturday with an afternoon match against Bridgewater College.
