Former Pacer Basketball Standout Shining in Pro Career in Germany

Kronberg, Germany – Former William Peace University men's basketball player Timothy Pettiford is making an immediate impact in his professional career, signing with MTV Kronberg in Germany's Regionalliga and delivering standout performances on the court.

After earning a contract in early January following a strong tryout, Pettiford made his professional debut on February 16, scoring a team high 21 points against league-leading ASC Theresanium Mainz. Since then, he has continued to excel, currently averaging 28 points per game while shooting 43% from three-point range.

"It's just a blessing to continue playing the game I've loved since I was a baby," Pettiford said. "I don't have to do this, but I get to do this. Jesus Christ has shown me so much favor. I can't thank Him enough for this opportunity."

Now settling into life in Germany, Pettiford has embraced the transition while maintaining a consistent training schedule. With practices twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays, he's also fitting in daily workouts to improve his game as he navigates his first professional season. The season features one game per week, typically on Saturdays or Sundays, which allows players to focus on preparation throughout the week before competing on the weekends.

A key contributor during his time at William Peace, Pettiford reflected on the impact of his former teammates and coaches, including Head Coach Claude Shields. "Coming to Peace changed the trajectory of my career, and I built so many lifelong relationships. Although we didn't win a championship, we made history a handful of times. My time as a Pacer was really special"

Despite the challenges of being away from his wife and two children, he remains focused on making the most of this opportunity. "This is just the beginning, and Lord willing, it will lead to even bigger things."
