ROANOKE, Va. – William Peace women's basketball picked up its third victory of the season Friday evening, rolling to an 87-56 win over Agnes Scott in day one of the Empowerment Classic.
After a tight first quarter, the Pacers broke the game open with a dominant 30-point second frame, outscoring the Scotties 30-7 to take full control. Peace shot 63 percent in the period and knocked down four threes while holding Agnes Scott to just three made field goals.
Freshman Ensley Perry delivered her best collegiate performance to date, scoring a game-high 22 points on 9-for-14 shooting with four threes and seven rebounds. Alayna Randolph followed with 12 points, six rebounds, and four steals, while Zikira Henderson added 11 points and six assists.
Amiah Griffin posted eight points and five boards, and Peace's bench contributed a season-high 30 points, highlighted by Kynsea Pugh's seven points and Brynn Stevens' five. The Pacers dominated the glass 54-34 and generated 29 points off turnovers.
With the win, Peace improves to 3-2 and will return to action on Saturday for day two of the Empowerment Classic, taking on host Hollins University at 4 p.m.
