Women's Basketball Drops Tight Fourth-Quarter Battle at Hollins

ROANOKE, Va. - William Peace closed out the Empowerment Classic with a 64-56 loss to host Hollins on Saturday afternoon, finishing 1-1 on the weekend and moving to 3-3 on the season.

The Pacers controlled long stretches of the game, including a strong second quarter that sent them into halftime up 25-23. Peace held the lead again late in the third, but Hollins surged in the final period with a 29-point quarter to pull away.

Zikira Henderson led the Pacers with 17 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Ensley Perry added 14 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Bre Oliver scored eight points and grabbed five boards, and Alayna Randolph added six points and five rebounds. Freshman Zakoreya Davis contributed with eight points and three rebounds off the bench.

Despite shooting 37 percent from the field, Peace was limited by 19 turnovers and a 60 percent mark at the free-throw line. Hollins capitalized in the fourth quarter, getting to the line repeatedly and scoring key baskets inside to close out the game.

The Pacers, now 3-3, turn their attention to conference play. Peace returns to action on Thursday, December 4, traveling to Greensboro for a 5:30 p.m. USA South opener.
