ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - William Peace University's men's basketball team faced a challenging road game against North Carolina Wesleyan on January 15th at Everett Gymnasium, falling 72-53. Despite a fighting effort in the second half, the Pacers couldn't overcome the early deficit.
The Pacers found themselves trailing 36-20 at the half after shooting 33.3% from the field and struggling to find their rhythm beyond the arc (1-for-9). Turnovers and missed opportunities allowed NC Wesleyan to extend their lead to 22 points late in the game.
William Peace showed some resilience in the second half, scoring 33 points and improving their shooting efficiency to 44.4%. Shawn Jones led the Pacers with 13 points and nine rebounds while adding two blocks.Â
Parker Hodgson chipped in 10 points, knocking down two three-pointers and a pair of free throws. Michael Dulin also recorded 10 points and dished out three assists, while Sully Caruso added six points and grabbed two rebounds.Â
The Pacers (2-12, 1-5 USA South) will look to bounce back in their next match up as they prepare to host Brevard College on Saturday, January 18th at 2 PM.
