RALEIGH, N.C. — William Peace University men's basketball dropped a 74-51 conference contest to Brevard College on Saturday afternoon at the Hermann Athletic Center. The Pacers moved to 2-14 overall and 0-5 in USA South Conference play.
Elijah Green led the Pacers with 15 points, shooting 55.6% from the field, including three three-pointers. Parker Hodgson chipped in seven points and pulled down four rebounds, while Elijah Cathcart added nine points off the bench, including two shots from beyond the arc.
William Peace trailed by 10 at the half, 32-22, but Brevard's hot shooting in the second half—65.5% from the field—proved too much to overcome. The Pacers showed signs of resilience, from Green's timely shooting to their bench that contributed 20 points. However, turnovers and second-chance opportunities for Brevard allowed the Tornados to pull away late.
The Pacers will look to regroup as they prepare for their next USA South matchup. The Pacers are back in action on Wednesday, January 22nd to host Methodist University in a 7 PM tip-off time.Â
