Men's Soccer Plays Second Straight Scoreless Tie

CARY, N.C. – William Peace played a scoreless men's soccer game for the second time this week.

The Pacers tied Randolph 0-0 Saturday in the first game of a men's and women's doubleheader against the Wildcats at WakeMed Soccer Park. William Peace is now 1-1-2 overall after back-to-back ties including Wednesday's meeting against Bridgewater.

William Peace has never played two straight opponents to a 0-0 deadlock in their 11-year men's soccer history. In fact, Saturday marks the third time the Pacers have ever played in a scoreless tie.

Just like the Bridgewater game, the Pacers outshot their opponent. They attempted 15 shots compared to eight for Randolph (1-0-2). The Pacers own a 34-19 shot advantage in their last two games.

In the first half against Randolph, the shots were about even with William Peace holding a 7-5 edge. In the second half, the Pacers took the majority of the shots (8-3) but were unable to find the back of the net. On the flip side, the Pacers have not allowed a goal in three straight games.

After consecutive home games, the Pacers hit the road to visit Lynchburg in Lynchburg, Va., on Thursday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m. They will be looking to score and gain a win against Lynchburg, their fifth straight ODAC opponent.
