Slow Start Hurts Men's Soccer In Loss To Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. - William Peace faced a two-goal deficit in the first four minutes of a 3-0 men's soccer loss to Lynchburg at Shellenberger Field on Thursday.

The Pacers fell to 1-2-2 overall while Lynchburg improved to 1-1-2. Lynchburg was the fifth straight Pacers' opponent from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

The first goal set the tone in the opening two minutes. A Lynchburg throw-in appeared to roll in the back of the net without touching a player from either team. Two minutes later, the Hornets scored again for a 2-0 lead.

William Peace trailed 3-0 at the half which turned out to be the final score. The Pacers had shut out their last three opponents before Wednesday's contest.

The Pacers return home for a Saturday game against Randolph-Macon at WakeMed Soccer Park. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.
