Men's Soccer Falls To Randolph-Macon

CARY, N.C. – William Peace held its own against Randolph-Macon in the first half at WakeMed Soccer Park.

The men's soccer game was scoreless at halftime, but Randolph-Macon scored three times in the second half for a 3-0 win on Saturday.

The Pacers are now 1-3-2 overall while the Yellow Jackets improved to 4-1 overall. Randolph-Macon is William Peace's sixth straight opponent from the competitive Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

William Peace was nearly even with Randolph-Macon statistically. The Yellow Jackets attempted one more shot attempt than the Pacers 14-13).

The challenging non-conference schedule should help the Pacers prepare for the USA South Conference slate in three weeks. First, the Pacers will play three more non-conference foes, including ODAC member Roanoke at WakeMed Soccer Park on Tuesday (Sept. 17) at 7 p.m.

So far, William Peace has faced Averett, Guilford, Bridgewater, Randolph, Lynchburg and Randolph-Macon. Lynchburg is ranked first and Roanoke fourth in the ODAC preseason poll. William Peace is predicted to place second in the USA South.
