Lominack Scores A Career-High In Men's Basketball Loss To Nationally-Ranked Guilford

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Ryan Lominack was nearly perfect on offense for William Peace in a 96-63 men's basketball loss to nationally-ranked Guilford at Ragan-Brown Field House on Tuesday.

WPU Head Coach Claude Shields saw some positives from his team despite the loss, including Lominack's shooting.

"Getting to play a ranked team like Guilford will only help us in the long run!," Shields said. "They are a sure fire NCAA team and are extremely disciplined in all aspects of the game. We tinkered with a few things tonight that really improved our ability to rebound the ball and our effort was certainly there - it was also nice to see Ryan knock down a few shots."

Lominack scored a career-high 19 points on 6 of 6 shooting, including 5 of 5 from three-point land in only 17 minutes of action off the bench.  He was 2 of 3 from the free throw line.

Chuks Ezeonu scored a season-high 10 points and collected four rebounds. Both Shawn Jones and Elijah Green chipped in seven points and Green handed out four assists.

Lominack, the USA South Rookie of the Year last season, provided much of the offense for the Pacers (0-5 overall), who shot 38.8 percent from the floor including 28.6 percent (8 of 28) behind the three-point line. Guilford, a DIII Final Four participant last season and currently ranked 17th in the country by D3hoops.com, shot 62.3 percent, including 52.4 percent (11 of 21) behind the three-point arc. The Quakers (4-1 overall) scored 54 points in the paint.

William Peace was outscored 53-34 in the first half. The Quakers expanded their lead in the second half for the victory.

The Pacers will take a Thanksgiving Holiday break before hosting JWU Charlotte at the Hermann Athletic Center on Wednesday, Dec.4. Game time is 5:30 p.m.

"We will use this Thanksgiving break to reset and get ready to go next week for Johnson and Wales!!," Shields said.
