ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – Timothy Pettiford tallied game-highs of 25 points and 10 rebounds for William Peace in a 76-69 men's basketball loss to N.C. Wesleyan at Everett Gymnasium on Thursday.

The 25 points and 10 rebounds were season-highs for Pettiford, who knocked down 9 of 18 shots from the floor, including 5 of 8 from three-point range. His four assists were also a season-high for the Pacers guard.

The Pacers (3-4 USA South, 8-10 overall) knocked down four consecutive three-pointers – including two from Pettiford – to climb back from a 10-point deficit in the second half. Ryan Lominack canned the other two treys. Pettiford's second three-pointer cut the deficit to 51-47 with over 11 minutes left. He later swished a jumper to push the Pacers ahead 53-51 to cap an 18-6 surge.

The game was tied five times after Pettiford's jumper, the last time at 66-66 on Beau Bryant's basket with over three minutes left. After Bryant's bucket, N.C. Wesleyan (4-3 USA South, 10-8 overall) finished with a 10-3 run to get the win.

Shawn Jones added 10 points on 5 of 7 shooting and Michael Dulin contributed nine points on 3 of 6 shooting behind the three-point line. Bryant totaled eight points, seven rebounds and four assists.

As a team, the Pacers connected on 15 of 33 three-pointers for 45.5 percent. It was their second-highest three-point percentage in a game this season.

The Pacers jumped out to a 17-4 early on the strength of five three-pointers. The Battling Bishops answered with a 25-9 run to take a 29-26 lead going into halftime. The margin stretched to 10 points in the second half before Pettiford sparked a Pacers' rally.
