WPU Extends Winning Streak To Five, Defeating Roanoke, 108-92

Box Score Raleigh, N.C. -- William Peace University men's basketball team earned it's fifth straight victory of the year with a win over Roanoke College on Saturday afternoon. The Pacers handled the Maroons well with a 108-92 final score.

The Pacers (6-1) got off to a great start early forcing Roanoke to call a timeout at 12:57 in the first half after the Pacers went up 19-10. Roanoke refocused and came out strong to take the lead 30-29 at the under-eight media timeout. The Pacers shot back and went on a 16-4 run to get the score to 45-34 at the final media time out of the first half. The Pacers went into halftime with an eight-point lead, 50-42.

The Maroons tried their best to get within reach of the Pacers in the second half, but some great shooting from beyond the arc and at the free throw line made it impossible for Roanoke to come back. WPU made 10-of-21 three pointers in the second half and had 12 offensive rebounds to close out the game.
