GREENSBORO, N.C. - William Peace opened its conference series at Greensboro with an 11-10 extra inning victory on Friday afternoon at Ted Leonard Park.
The Pacers battled back after falling behind early, trailing 8-5 before chipping away in the middle innings. Leland Barrow led the offense with three hits and two RBIs, while Gavin Turner added three hits including two doubles. Hayden Heath and Kyle Peters each recorded two hits as Peace finished with 16 hits on the day.
William Peace tied the game in the ninth on a sacrifice fly from Aaron Kimbel and an RBI double from Turner to take a 10 to 9 lead. Greensboro answered in the bottom half to force extra innings, but the Pacers responded in the tenth. Heath and Peters opened the inning with back to back singles before Nick Weisner drove in the go ahead run with an RBI groundout.
On the mound, Seth Svadeba earned the win with two innings of work, allowing just one run while closing out the final innings.
William Peace improves to 9-14 overall and 3-4 in conference play, and will look to secure another win tomorrow, with first pitch set for 2 PM.
