Pacers Selected Seventh in USA South Men’s Lacrosse Preseason Poll

RALEIGH, N.C. - The William Peace University men's lacrosse team was picked seventh in the 2026 USA South Coaches Preseason Poll, which was released today.

The Pacers are coming off a 2025 season that saw continued progress under head coach Troy Humphrey, who enters his second year leading the program. William Peace finished the year with a 6-8 overall record and went 3-5 in conference play, earning a spot in the USA South Conference Tournament for the third time since 2018. That appearance matched the furthest postseason advancement in program history.

Humphrey returns 10 players from last season's roster while welcoming 21 newcomers, creating a blend of experience and new talent as the Pacers look to take the next step within the conference. Offensively, William Peace averaged just over 12 goals per game in 2025, with multiple players posting strong scoring and point totals throughout the season.

With a full offseason in Humphrey's system and increased roster depth, William Peace enters the 2026 season focused on competing at a higher level within the USA South.

The Pacers will open their preseason on Saturday, January 31 with a scrimmage against Fork Union Military Academy before beginning the regular season on February 13 at Earlham College.
