CARY, N.C. - William Peace dropped a USA South match up Tuesday night, falling to Southern Virginia 18-1 at WakeMed Park. The Pacers move to 8-8 overall and 1-6 in conference play.
Southern Virginia built an early lead in the opening quarter and continued to control possession throughout the night. The Pacers created chances late and broke through in the fourth quarter when William English scored the lone goal for Peace.
Carson McGee finished with 12 saves in goal while facing 30 shots on target. Defensively, Caden Tuthill continued his strong season with eight ground balls and six caused turnovers. Brady Dole added four caused turnovers, and the Pacers totaled 17 caused turnovers as a team.
William Peace finished with 37 ground balls and 22 shots in the contest, but Southern Virginia's defense limited scoring opportunities throughout the night.
The Pacers will close out the regular season conference schedule on Saturday, April 18 when they travel to LaGrange.
