Misenheimer, N.C. – William Peace women's soccer dropped a close 1–0 match on the road Tuesday night against Pfeiffer at Lefko-Mills Field.
The Falcons struck early, scoring the match's lone goal in the 6th minute when Kenzie Goldstein converted off an assist from Yailine Riera. From there, Peace tightened up defensively and battled for the remaining 85 minutes, but could not find the equalizer.
The Pacers generated eight shots on the night, with Savanna Berckmiller and Kerlyn Navarrete Trejos leading the attack. Josie Tucker and Samantha Fore also put attempts on target, but Pfeiffer goalkeeper Kaylee Ollis came up with four saves.
In net, Pacer keeper Gaby Vazquez turned in another strong outing with five saves, including several in the second half as Pfeiffer pushed forward.
With the result, Peace moves to 1-5-1 overall (0-2-0 USA South). The Pacers return home this weekend for another conference match up against Brevard at 2:00 PM.
