Pacers Fall in Four Sets to Greensboro in Conference Opener

RALEIGH, NC – William Peace University volleyball dropped its USA South Conference opener on Wednesday night, falling 3–1 to Greensboro College in the Hermann Athletic Center.

The Pacers came out strong in the first set, rallying late to take a 25–22 win and grab the early momentum. However, the Pride responded by tightening up defensively and taking the next three sets by scores of 25–16, 25–14, and 25–17 to secure the match.

Freshman outside hitter Aaliyah Anderson paced the Pacers with nine kills on a .200 hitting percentage, while Aubrey Chesson added eight kills and 23 digs. Maegan Brylski directed the offense with 30 assists, also contributing 12 digs and a pair of service aces. Gracie Payne anchored the back row with a match-high 28 digs.

As a team, the Pacers finished with 42 kills and 95 digs, but Greensboro's balanced attack and .195 hitting percentage proved to be the difference down the stretch.

With the result, William Peace moves to 3–6 overall and 0–1 in conference play, while Greensboro improves to 5–0 (1–0 USA South).

The Pacers will return to action this weekend at the Buttermaker Tournament hosted by Muhlenberg College.
