STAUNTON, Va. - William Peace baseball strung together consistent offense across the board and held off a late push from Mary Baldwin to claim a 10-5 road victory on Saturday afternoon. The win moves the Pacers to 6-16 on the season.
The Pacers jumped ahead early, plating a run in the first and never surrendering the lead. After Mary Baldwin tied things at 3-2 in the third, WPU responded with a pair of runs in the fifth before exploding for four more in the sixth, highlighted by a three-run home run from Gavin Turner, his first of the season. Turner finished the day 3-for-5 with four RBIs and a run scored.
Justin Earle added 2-RBI, while Nick Tubolino reached base four times, going 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Aaron Kimbel also drove in two runs.
On the mound, freshman right-hander Alejandro Posluszny earned the win in relief, tossing 3.2 innings and allowing two unearned runs while striking out one. The Pacers used five pitchers total, with Landon Coleman closing things out in the ninth.
