Softball Dominates in Day Two of Myrtle Beach Fastpitch Classic

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Game One:  The William Peace softball team (9-5) put on an offensive showcase, posting a dominant 23-0 victory over Penn State Scranton on day two of the Fastpitch Dreams Classic at Myrtle Beach. The Pacers exploded for 10 runs in the third inning and 11 more in the fourth to seal the win, tallying 26 hits in the process.

William Peace wasted no time getting on the board, scoring two runs in the first inning. The offensive outburst began in the third when the Pacers sent 10 runs across the plate, capped by a two-run home run from Reagan Stewart, who had a stellar day at the plate, going 4-for-4 with four RBIs and a home run. The bats continued to fire in the fourth, with Allison Burlew and Peyton Langley each driving in multiple runs as the Pacers extended their lead to 23-0.

Stewart also got the job done in the circle, earning the win to improve her record to 5-1. She and Samantha Cusic combined for a two-hit shutout.

Game Two:  The Pacers (10-5) continued their strong showing in game two, securing a 5-1 victory over Dickinson College (5-2) behind stellar pitching from
Kimberly Bordeaux and timely hitting from the Pacers' offense.

The Pacers jumped out to an early lead, plating two runs in the first inning thanks to an RBI double from Adanya Day and a sacrifice fly by Isabelle Olson. They added two more in the third when Kinley Jordan doubled and later scored, followed by an RBI single from Stewart, extending the lead to 4-0.

Bordeaux was dominant in the circle, tossing a complete game, allowing just five hits and striking out 11 batters.

William Peace tacked on an insurance run in the fifth when Taylor Byrd tripled to right field, scoring Olson, sealing the 5-1 victory.

The Pacers are back in action tomorrow for their final double header match up at the Myrtle Beach Fastpitch Dreams Classic Tournament.
