Women's Basketball Falls to Pfeiffer on the Road

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The William Peace women's basketball team faced a tough road test against Pfeiffer, falling 74-44 in USA South Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Merner Gym.

The Pacers (4-16, 3-9 USA South) started competitively, keeping pace with the Falcons (9-10, 7-6 USA South) in the opening quarter. A wave of three-pointers, including two from Brene'a Daye, helped William Peace stay within two points after the first period, trailing 17-15.

However, offensive struggles hurt the Pacers in the second quarter, as they managed only five points. Pfeiffer capitalized, extending their lead to 31-20 at halftime behind a strong defensive effort and scoring off of turnovers.

The third quarter proved decisive as the Falcons went off for 23 points while holding William Peace to just eight. The Pacers continued to battle in the fourth, with Hannah Lewis adding nine points off the bench, but Pfeiffer's advantage was too much to overcome.

Daye led William Peace with 11 points, knocking down three 3-pointers, while Zikira Henderson contributed eight points and five rebounds.

William Peace will look to bounce back in their next match up as they head to Methodist to take on the Monarchs at 7:30 PM.
