Women's Basketball Falls to N.C. Wesleyan in Conference Matchup

RALEIGH, N.C. – The William Peace University women's basketball team faced a tough loss against conference opponent N.C. Wesleyan on Tuesday evening, falling 95-65 at the Hermann Athletic Center.

The Pacers (4-19, 3-12 USA South) fought hard but were unable to slow down a fast-paced N.C. Wesleyan (14-7, 11-3 USA South) offense that shot 48.8% from the field.

Alayna Randolph led William Peace with 16 points, shooting 2-of-3 from behind the arc while going 4-for-4 at the free throw line. Brene'a Daye added seven points and two steals, while Zikira Henderson and Shania Taylor each contributed seven and six points.

The Pacers started strong, keeping the game close in the opening quarter and trailing just 23-17 after ten minutes. However, N.C. Wesleyan capitalized on turnovers and second-chance opportunities to extend their lead, outscoring William Peace in every quarter.

The Pacers will look to bounce back in their next contest as they face Methodist at home on Saturday, February 22nd for their final regular season match up.
