RALEIGH, N.C. – The William Peace University women's basketball team struggled offensively in an 80-45 loss to Methodist University on Saturday afternoon at the Herman Student Center.
The Pacers (4-20, 3-13 USA South) held a narrow 17-14 lead after the first quarter but were unable to maintain their momentum as the Monarchs (16-9, 11-5 USA South) took control, outscoring William Peace 66-28 in the final three quarters.
Zikira Henderson led the Pacers with 15 points, adding 7 rebounds and two steals. ALayna Randolph recorded 13 points, and Ja'Naisja Baker added 5 points and two assists.
Despite a strong start, William Peace struggled from the field, shooting just 28.6% (16-56) overall and 18.2% (4-22) from beyond the arc. The Pacers also found it challenging to convert second-chance opportunities, managing only 4 second-chance points compared to Methodist's 19.
William Peace will look to regroup as they prepare for the first round of the USA South Tournament that begins on Tuesday, February 25th.
