BUENA VISTA, Va. - William Peace women's basketball suffered its first USA South loss of the season on Monday afternoon, falling 67-52 to Southern Virginia at Knight Arena. The setback moves the Pacers to 6-4 overall and 3-1 in conference play through 10 games.
Southern Virginia set the tone early, building a double-digit lead in the first half and taking a 37-20 advantage into the break. William Peace responded in the second half, outscoring the Knights 32-30 over the final two quarters, but was unable to close the gap.
Zikira Henderson and Ensley Perry led the Pacers with 17 points apiece. Henderson added two rebounds, assists, and steals, while Perry finished with two assists and two steals. Amiah Griffin contributed nine points and a team-high seven rebounds.
William Peace put the pressure on, forcing 16 turnovers and scoring 18 points off those miscues. The Pacers also finished with 30 points in the paint and 11 fast break points, continuing to lean on their transition game.
Southern Virginia was paced by Abigail Snyder's game-high 28 points and shot over 50 percent from the field as a team.
The Pacers will close out the 2025 calendar year at home on Monday, December 30, hosting Bethany College in the Hermann Athletic Center. Tip off at 2 p.m.
