Pacers Fall To Greensboro In Baseball Doubleheader

CARY, N.C. – William Peace dropped both games to Greensboro in a USA South doubleheader at the USA Baseball National Training Complex on Saturday. The Pacers fell 4-3 in the first game and 9-2 in the second game.

Both William Peace and Greensboro are tied for fourth in the USA South standings at 5-4. The Pacers are 9-14 overall.

In the first game, Griffin Sandstrum hit a two-run single to cut Greensboro's lead to 4-3 in the seventh inning. The Pacers had runners on first and second base with no outs but ended the inning without scoring again.

Cameron Barefoot smacked a one-run single in the fifth inning for the Pacers' first run. His hit sliced the deficit to 3-1.

Barefoot finished 3-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored. Nick Tubolino went 2-for-3 with one run scored and Tyler Stocksdale scored a run.

In the second game, the Pacers scored on Alex Levesque's solo homer in the fourth inning and Nick Tyler's RBI single in the seventh inning.

The Pacers play again next weekend against nationally ranked N.C. Wesleyan in a USA South three-game series in Rocky Mount, N.C. The first game is set for Friday, April 5, at 6 p.m.
