Pacers Open Baseball Season With Home Doubleheader Saturday

RALEIGH, N.C. – Baseball season begins for William Peace this Saturday when the Pacers host Virginia Wesleyan in a doubleheader at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. The first game starts at 11 a.m. followed by the second game at approximately 2 p.m.

The Pacers return 30 players from last year's squad. That team set a program record for season wins (25) and reached its first-ever championship series in the USA South Conference Tournament. This year's team, which includes 35 newcomers, is picked to finish fourth in the league preseason poll.

The top returnee is All-Region second baseman Jake Dacunto. He totaled 55 hits, 38 RBIs and 83 assists for the Pacers.
