Pacers Fall In Baseball Doubleheader

CARY, N.C. – William Peace combined for 19 hits against Mitchell in a baseball doubleheader on Saturday at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. The Pacers lost the first game 8-4 and the second game 17-5.

Andy Duran led the Pacers (1-4 overall) in the first game. He was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and one run scored.

Duran smacked a two-run double and scored on a wild pitch to give the Pacers a 3-0 first-inning lead. Aaron Kimbel added an RBI double for a 4-2 lead in the third inning for the Pacers, who collected 10 hits.

Mitchell (0-2) scored six runs in the final three innings, including four in the eighth inning, for the final score.

In the second game, the Pacers scored all five runs in the seventh and final inning. Kameron Ballance hit an RBI double and Kyle Peters collected an RBI single for the first two runs. Balance scored on an error in the inning and Cole Thompson drove in a run with a single. Eddie Sanchez finished the Pacers' scoring with an RBI sacrifice fly.

The three-game series concludes Sunday with a nine-inning game at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. Game time is noon.
