Women's Basketball Falls To Methodist On The Road

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Nautica Smiley scored 15 points and Brene'a Daye added 10 points for William Peace in an 82-49 women's basketball loss to Methodist at Riddle Center on Wednesday.

The Pacers dropped to 6-11 in the USA South and 8-15 overall. Despite the loss, the Pacers will qualify for the USA South Tournament, which begins Feb. 22. The top eight squads in the 10-team league advance to the tournament after the regular season ends Saturday. Methodist improved to 16-1 in the USA South and 19-5 overall.

Tanaesha Ellison, named USBWA National Division III Player of the Week on Tuesday, registered 11 rebounds to go with three steals, four points and two assists. Hannah Lewis scored eight points and Zia Prim had eight rebounds and four points.

The Pacers visit Pfeiffer in the final game of the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 17. The contest starts at 2 p.m. in Misenheimer, N.C.
