Pacers Fall To Pfeiffer, Enter USA South Tourney As No. 8 Seed

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Tanaesha Ellison finished with 32 points and 12 rebounds in a 74-65 women's basketball loss to Pfeiffer at Merner Gym on Saturday.

The Pacers ended the regular season 6-12 in the USA South Conference and 8-16 overall. They enter the conference tournament as the No. 8 seed and will visit top-seed Southern Virginia in a first-round game on Tuesday, Feb. 20.

Nautica Smiley added 12 points, nine rebounds and five steals for the Pacers. Allye Woodruff registered nine points on 3 of 6 three-point shooting and Zia Prim grabbed seven rebounds.

Ellison scored 16 first-half points as the Pacers trailed 36-34 at the break. The Pacers stayed within two at 53-51 on Ellison's layup in the fourth period, but a 17-2 run by Pfeiffer put the game out of reach.

Led by Ellison, the Pacers scored 39 bench points and 30 points in the paint. The Pacers outshot Pfeiffer 41.8 percent to 34.2 percent.
