Men's Basketball Falls To Division I UNCG In Exhibition Game

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The William Peace men's basketball team fell to Division I UNC Greensboro 86-37 in an exhibition game at Fleming Gymnasium on Tuesday.

Chuks Ezeonu led the Pacers with eight points on 4 of 4 shooting. The Pacers forward added four rebounds and two blocks. Shawn Jones contributed seven points and six rebounds for the Pacers, who shot 32.6 percent including 13.6 percent from three-point range.

The Pacers trailed the entire game as the Spartans opened a 36-16 halftime lead. Ahead 39-23 in the second half, the Spartans reeled off 14 straight points for a 30-point lead. UNCG later added a 17-0 run to finish off the Pacers.

The Spartans shot 55.2 percent including 46.4 percent behind the three-point arc. UNCG outscored the Pacers 50-21 in the second half.

After taking a Christmas break, the Pacers will play in the Guilford College Holiday Classic on Dec. 29-30 in Greensboro, N.C. The Pacers will face Belhaven (Miss.) on Sunday at 5 p.m. and Sewanee on Monday at 2 p.m.
