ROANOKE, VA -- William Peace University women's basketball defeated Hollins 73-58 in overtime for a season-opening win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first quarter, Hollins would take an early 10-0 lead before a jumper from Elisha Aull would put the Pacers on the board as they trailed 10-2. A shot from behind the arc from Hannah Lewis would bring the score to 12-7 as the Pacers battled. A layup from Pamela Mock would put the Pacers within four to trail 15-11.
- Hollins would start strong in the 2nd quarter to take a 20-11 lead. A 3-pointer from Brene'a Daye and a layup from Mock would close the gap to 22-18. A jumper from Ninevah Reddick would put the Pacers within one as they trailed 24-23 before another 3 from Daye and a jumper from Mock would put them up 28-25 at the half.
- The third quarter would be a back-and-forth matchup as Hollins would tie it 34-34. A layup from Myla Barnes would put the Pacers up 39-34, but Hollins would take a 42-39 lead. A layup and free throw from Aull would send the Pacers into the 4th quarter with a 44-42 advantage.
- Hollins would again pull away at the start of the quarter to lead 52-47. A free throw from Mock would cut the lead to 55-50, while a shot from behind the arc from Daye would tie the game 56-56 late to send it into overtime.
- The Pacers would dominate overtime, with a layup, two jumpers, and free throw from Mock, as well as a 3 from Reddick putting them up 66-56. Aull would add a few free throws for a score of 71-56, also adding a final layup to secure the 73-58 win for the Pacers.
