RALEIGH, NC -- William Peace University women's basketball fell to the University of Lynchburg by a score of 84-71.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first quarter would begin as a close contest as the Pacers would trail just 9-8. A layup from Pamela Mock would put the Pacers up 12-11, while a few free throws from Ninevah Reddick at the end of the quarter would put the score tied 14-14.
- A jumper followed by a layup from Reddick early in the second quarter would put the Pacers up 24-21. The Hornets would tie it up at 26-26 before taking a 33-28 lead. Layups from Brene'a Daye and Pamela Mock followed by a free throw from Mock would tie it 33-33. Two final layups from Reddick and Myla Barnes would put the Pacers up 37-33 at the half.
- A few early free throws and some big 3-pointers from Macey Mullins would put the Hornets up 44-40 in the third quarter. A few free throws from Mock would cut the Hornets' lead to 50-46, but the Hornets would go on a run to lead 59-50. Some late shots from the foul line by Daye would cut the lead to 62-58 heading into the final quarter.
- A layup and a few shots from the foul line from Reddick would chip away at the 68-62 Hornets' lead. Macey Mullins would continue to be strong from behind the arc to put Lynchburg up 73-62. A jumper from Kameesha Pascoe and a layup from Mock would cut the score to 76-69, but a few final shots from Kayla Sledge and Macey Mullins would help secure the 84-71 win for the Hornets.
PACER TOP PERFORMERS
- Pamela Mock led the Pacers with 27 points as she went 12-21 from the field.
- Myla Barnes tallied 5 steals and 5 rebounds.
FOR THE FOES
- Macey Mullins led the Hornets with 20 points as she went 6-9 from the 3-point line.
