Raleigh, NC -- The William Peace University men's lacrosse team will open the 2020 season at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA on February 8th. The Pacers completed the 2019 season with a 6-11 overall record and 3-4 conference record which was good for a 6th place finish in the conference. The Pacers ended the season with a 17-14 loss to Huntingdon College in the first round of the USA South Conference Tournament. In the preseason poll, the Pacers were picked to finish 4th in the USA South Conference for the 2020 season.
Anthony Florian and
Dalton Albright led the team last season as they each tallied 32 goals and 12 assists. Florian also contributed 27 caused turnovers.
Nick Shelton led the team in goal as he recorded 188 saves, which was good for 3rd overall amongst all USA South goalies.
This will be the first matchup against Shenandoah for the Pacers. The Hornets were 7-9 overall and 3-7 in the ODAC during the 2019 season. Ryan Schott led the team with 39 goals and 17 assists. Chris Baker also contributed 34 goals and 17 assists, while goalie Michael Beutel ended the season with 107 saves.
Colin Smith enters his third year as the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach. He is assisted by
Arno Olivier, Connor Poss, and Oliver Kaija.
