RALEIGH, NC -- After her first week of collegiate action,
Emily Braxton of the WPU volleyball team, earned the honor of being named USA South Rookie of the Week. The freshman defensive specialist from Willow Spring, North Carolina averaged 6.86 digs per set as the Pacers competed in the Averett Cougar Classic last weekend. In a 3-2 loss to Guilford, Braxton tallied 25 digs and four assists. In a 3-0 loss to Roanoke, Braxton posted 21 digs and two assists. In a 3-0 loss to Southern Virginia, Braxton notched 29 digs, four assists and two service aces. In a 3-0 win over Randolph, Braxton totaled 21 digs, one assist and one service ace.
