Cross Country Wraps Up USA South Conference Championship

MARYVILLE, TN -- The William Peace University cross country team competed in the USA South Conference Championship on Friday afternoon to conclude their 2018 season. The women's team finished in 12th place out of 15 teams, an improvement from last season by three places. The men's team concluded in 12th place as well, with several season best individual finishes.

Men's Cross Country 8k Race
The men's team found Tucker Soltesz led the way for the Pacer men's team finishing in 56th place with a final time of 32:07.5. Justin Sanford finished with a season best time of 34:30.6, 14 seconds faster than his lowest finish. Chandler Hughes finished swiftly behind Sanford with a time of 34:58.2, a personal best for Hughes. Grayson Rose and Marvin Bruinton also posted season best finishes with times of 37:44.1 and 43:05.7, respectively.

Women's Cross Country 5K Race
The women's cross country team finished ahead of North Carolina Wesleyan, Georgia Wesleyan, and Averett University. Anna Roman led the women's race for the Pacers with a finish time of 30:00.7. Shania Springer and Bailey Lambertson followed behind Roman with back-to-back times of 33:11.9 and 33:14.3. Rounding out the top five finishers for the Pacers were Khadijah Daniels and Amber Riggs.
