RALEIGH, N.C. - WPU Athletics is excited to announce the hiring of Cameron Davis as the Head Cross Country Coach. Davis is also the Assistant Softball Coach, and brings a wealth of experience as both a collegiate athlete and coach, making her a valuable addition to the Pacers athletic department.
"We are excited for Cameron to join us in a full-time capacity." WPU Athletics Director Claude Shields said. "She will be a tremendous asset to our softball program while also building our Cross Country programs back to where we want them to be!"
A former standout softball player at Shepherd University, Davis earned numerous accolades during her playing career, including D2CCA All-American honors and multiple all-region and all-conference selections.
She later served as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Columbus State University, where she contributed to practice planning, recruiting, game-day operations, and facility management.
In addition to her softball expertise, Davis has a strong background in leadership and development. She completed her Master's in Organizational Leadership at Columbus State University and was actively involved in mentoring student-athletes through various coaching and volunteer roles.
"I'm really excited and thankful for this opportunity and cannot wait for the season to begin so I can start building connections with my athletes." Davis said.
Davis's passion for athlete development and hard work makes her an outstanding addition to the coaching staff. The Pacer family welcomes her and looks forward to an exciting season ahead!
