RALEIGH, N.C. -- The William Peace University women's basketball team returns to their home court to take on Brevard College at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10. The Tornados (6-5) are new members of the USA South Athletic Conference but their play will not count towards conference standings until next year.
The Pacers (2-7) enter the match coming off a weekend of conference play on the road where they went (1-1). The Pacers defeated Mary Baldwin University on Saturday and lost a battle to Averett University on the following Sunday. Mikayla Ray posted record breaking numbers over the weekend pulling down a program-high, 22 rebounds and nine steals to go along with 28 points. Ray put up a career-high 30 points against the Cougars of Averett University but WPU would fall 66-101.
The Tornados of Brevard College enter the match on a two-game winning streak, having defeated Agnes Scott and Huntingdon College. Brevard is led by senior guard, Annalee Bollinger who is averaging 14.6 points per game.
