FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - William Peace closed out the regular season with a 51-49 road win over Methodist on Saturday and move to 15-10 overall and 12-6 in conference play.
The Pacers and Monarchs battled throughout, with the game tied seven times and the lead changing four times. Peace led 16-14 after the first quarter, but Methodist carried a 34-30 lead into halftime. The Monarchs extended their lead to 47-36 at the end of the third.
William Peace responded in the fourth, holding Methodist to just two points in the final quarter. The Pacers outscored the Monarchs 15-2 over the last 10 minutes to complete the comeback.
Zikira Henderson led the way with 12 points and eight rebounds. Amiah Griffin added 10 points, while Alayna Randolph and Ensley Perry each contributed seven. Zakoreya Davis provided a key presence inside with nine rebounds and five points, including a late free throw to seal the win.
William Peace now turns its attention to the first round of USA South Tournament play on Tuesday, February 24.
