Pacers Hit the Road for Weekend Re-Match Against Bishops

Raleigh, N.C. -- The William Peace University women's basketball team hits the road on Saturday afternoon for a conference match-up against the Battling Bishops of N.C. Wesleyan College at 2:00 p.m. The Pacers will conclude the weekend with another road game in Fayetteville, North Carolina on Sunday, January 28 against Methodist University.

In their first meeting of the 2017-2018 season, the Bishops (7-11) stole a victory in Raleigh, defeating the Pacers (3-12) in a nail-biting fashion with a final score of 93-89. The Pacers were lead by Mikayla Ray who made history for the women's basketball program scoring a staggering 40 points while pulling down 15 rebounds. DeJah Cheatham was the second-leading scorer for the Pacers with 23 points. The Battling Bishops were lead by Nadiya Holley who came off of the bench to score 18 points for N.C. Wesleyan.

The Pacers are coming off of a loss to Meredith College on Wednesday evening where the rival teams battled closely for 40 minutes before the Avenging Angels would take the victory, 79-69.
