Women's Basketball Prepares for Avenging Angels in Mid-Week Rivalry

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The William Peace University women's basketball team will have home court advantage for the second game in a row after defeating Mary Baldwin 79-53 Sunday afternoon. The Pacers will face the Meredith Avenging Angels in Raleigh, NC at the Hermann Athletic Center on Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m.

Meredith College enters the contest (3-6) in conference and (3-14) overall. This will be the first of two matchups between these two USA South rivals. Last year, the Pacers went 2-0 against the Angels. William Peace holds a record of (3-5) in conference and an overall record of (3-11).

In William Peace's last home game, Mikayla Ray continued to lead the Pacers with another double-double contributing 27 points and 18 rebounds. Jayde Grant also put up impressive numbers as she scored 19. The Pacers ability to shoot and draw fouls in the paint has been challenging for opponents to defend. William Peace averages 65 points per game and an impressive 11.1 steals per game.

The Student Athlete Advisory Committee will begin their Pennies for a Purpose campaign in their conference-wide fundraiser. Keep an eye out for their display in the Hermann Center lobby before the game!

Catch the game with live stats and live video.
