Baseball Wins Game Two Against Pride On Senior Day

Box Score

RALEIGH N.C. -- It was a memorable day for many Pacers as they celebrated Senior Day for their athletes. With family's on the field and cameras snapping the 10 Pacer seniors were commemorated for their dedication to academics and their athletic developments. Today was a win for the Pacers and their family in more ways than just the scoreboard.

Rather than hitting, Senior pitcher, Chase Roupp lead the charge for the Pacers in this one. Roupp tallied up five strike outs in seven innings pitched. Although a string of hits would escape Roupp early, he kept the board scoreless throughout his duration on the mound. In the bottom of the sixth Alec Allred was up to bat with bases loaded. He would bring home one after a sacrifice infield hit. Following the play a wild pitch would bring home another for the Pacers. They would enter the seventh up 2-0. After stern pitching from Roupp the Pacers would head into the bottom of the seventh looking to extend their lead. After a wild inning the Pacers would end up bringing home one making the score 3-0 heading into the eighth. Cameron High would relieve Roupp after seven innings pitched. High would be under intense pressure as the Pride looked desperate to bring home runs. After battling a full count rotation twice, High would let up two runs in the top of the eighth inning. At a score of 3-2 tin the bottom of the eighth the Pacers were up to bat but failed to bring the bats to life. Ben Brann would step into pitch the final inning as the Pacers looked to keep the lead at a score of 3-2. Brann produced great pitching to lead the Pacers to a win and finish off the Pride's chances of retaliation. The game would finish with a final score, 3-2.
