CARY, N.C. -- The William Peace Pacers will take on the Greensboro College Pride this weekend with an opportunity to play its' way into the program's first conference tournament appearance. The Pacers (15-18, 6-9) currently sit in seventh place in the USA South, while Greensboro (20-13, 8- 7) are in fourth place.
"It would be great for our seniors who have been with us since the program started to earn a tournament berth for them in their final year", said Head Coach
Chris Duty. "I know it would mean everything to them to be able to continue their careers as Pacers."
Senior
Alex Scott is hitting .386 this year with 31 RBI, and is looking to make an impact to help lead the Pacers to LaGrange next week.

Tyler Tilson, and
Mikey Anerton are all hitting above .300 as well, and appear to be hitting their strides at the right time. Easton
Payton is hopeful to return to the starting lineup this weekend after being sidelined with an injury against Covenant. Aside from the surge of offense, the William Peace pitchers have been able to put together outings to keep the Pacers in close games. Senior
Trevor Pence is posting a 2.44 ERA, to go along with 56 strikeouts, good enough for 5th and 2nd respectively in the USA South. Junior
Luke Westmoreland is coming off a complete game four hit performance on the road against Averett, and is looking to have another outing to match.
"We have been doing a much better job of throwing strikes, which is always our goal. We want to make the hitters earn their way onto bases rather than giving them anything extra", explains first year Pitching Coach
Dylan Pfingst. "I believe our bullpen will be the ones to carry us to Georgia, and through Georgia. We need to take care of business on our end this weekend first."
Game one is slated for 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Game two will be played at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 8 as we honor

Nick Cole,
Trevor Nanney,
Chase Roupp, and
Tyler Klinedinst on Senior Day. Game 3 is set for 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, and will be played in honor of the VS Cancer Society. The Pacers were able to raise close to $4,000 to help fund cancer research. Players and coaches will participate in head-shaving on the field after the game.
Free shuttles from campus will be available 45 minutes prior to first pitch each game for students and staff. $1 hot dogs and $1 ice cream specials will be available on Sunday.
All home games are played at the USA Baseball National Training Facility in Cary, and admission is free to all fans.
