Box Score CARY, NC -- The Pacers rounded up their 3 game series against Covenant College with a win, bringing their overall record to (13-17) and conference record to (4-8). The series was filled with close games, each being decided by only 1 run.
The game started off in favor of the Pacers with Alex Allred scoring on a passed ball in the bottom of the second inning. The Scotts would come back to answer in the top of the third scoring two. The Scotts would continue to trade runs with the Pacers as the lead changed seven different times in this contest. The game came down to the final inning. Going into the top of the ninth, the Pacers trailed 8-7. The Pacers solid defense would get a quick three -up and three-down to send them in to bat.
Alex Scott was first on in the inning after being hit by a pitch and would advance to third on a double by
Alec Allred to center field. A pitching change and an intentional walk on
Kyle Cranmer would load the bases while the Scot's only had one out.
Tyler Tilson was hit by a pitch, thus advancing all runners, and sending
Alex Scott home to score the tying run.
Nick Cole stepped up to the plate with the bases still loaded, and hit a single up the middle to score
Alec Allred, and that would finish the game. The Pacers secured the victory 9-8.
The pitching efforts were vital for the Pacers throughout the game. On the mound today,

The Pacers are back in action Friday, March 31, where they take on Averett University (5-20) in Danville, VA at 3:00 p.m. This will be the first game of the three game series that will be completed on Sunday.
