CARY, NC -- William Peace Baseball currently sits one spot out of the top eight needed to play in the USA South Tournament. All teams in spots five through nine are separated by one or two wins, making the stretch of conference games even more important over the next few weeks.
The Pacers (12-15, 3-6) will take on the Scots of Covenant College in a three game set this weekend. The schedule for the weekend includes a double-header on Friday beginning at 3:00pm in Cary.
Alex Scott (.378, 1 HR, 13 RBI),
Sean Finneran (.353, 7 R, .465 OBP),
Nathan Holt (.333, 4 SB), and
Tyler Tilson (.333, 2 2B, 5 RBI) look to continue to lead the offensive attack for the Pacers.
Mikey Anerton,
Alec Allred, and
Easton Payton have also made contributions, combining for seven extra-base hits, and 11 RBI. All stats listed are reflective of each hitters conference output.
The Pacers will continue to lean on regular starters
Trevor Pence (2-0. 2.25, 20 K, 1 CG SHO),
Cameron High, and new starting pitcher
Luke Westmoreland. Pence opened up USA South play with a complete game shut out over North Carolina Wesleyan, and had 7 inning, 6 strikeout performance over Methodist in his last start.
Friday's 18 inning double-header will begin at 3:00 p.m., with game two following at 6:00 p.m.
Saturday's single game will start at 1:00 p.m. All games will be played at the USA Baseball National Training Facility in Cary.
