Box Score CARY, NC -- The William Peace Baseball team was back on the diamond on Saturday for the second game of the series against the Monarchs from Methodist University. In a high scoring first inning, the Monarchs were able to get out on top early thanks to some timely hitting in the top of the first, the Monarchs tacked on four runs in the first. The Pacers would answer right back in the bottom of the inning thanks to a two RBI single from Mikey Anerton. That would be all for the Pacers in the runs category as the Monarch's pitching staff was able to keep the Pacers offense at bay for the rest of the game. The Monarchs were able to add three in the fifth and two in the ninth to finish off the game 9-2 in favor of the Monarchs.
The Pacers and the Monarchs will be back on the diamond for the rubber match and final game of the series at 3:00 p.m on Sunday afternoon.
